The Tests of Salem The Crucible is a play, which focuses on numerous immortal issues. The idea of good and malice, force and its defilement, respect and honesty and incongruity are totally raised in Arthur Miller's The Crucible. Incongruity what doe sit men? Incongruity implies disjointedness between what is relied upon to occur and what really happens. In The Crucible there are three distinct parts of incongruity. Incongruity is available through numerous scenes of the play and it is critical to the result of the story. Three kinds of incongruity that are in the play is man versus man, man versus society and man versus man. Â Â Â Â Â The first part of incongruity in the story is when Elizabeth Proctor deceives the court to spare her significant other however rather gets him in a difficult situation and aides Abigail. Delegate tells the court that his significant other has never cover yet when thy require her she says something with the goal of helping him yet unexpectedly she exacerbate things. 'In her life, sir, she have never lied. There re them can't sing, and them that can't sob – my significant other can't lie. I have paid a lot to learn it, sir';(Miller 111) In the statement Proctor is telling the court that a few people can't sing and some are to solid to sob and his better half won't lie. Another case of incongruity that can be utilized in the circumstance is that the spouse figures his better half will never lie and to demonstrate she will never lie he concedes that he has submitted infidelity which his significant other definitely thinks about and the court puts his significant other to a test. The court inquires as to whether her better half has the illicit relationship and rather than the spouse saying yes she says no, figuring it will spare her significant other. 'To your own insight, has John Proctor ever submits infidelity and she is stating no. By these couple of scenes in the story it shows how incongruity can change the result of the story. Â Â Â Â Â Another case of incongruity in the story is when Abigail is attempting to slaughter Proctor's better half by blaming her for black magic however rather gets Proctor murdered. Abigail is infatuated with John Proctor in the story and the general purpose of Abigail being in the forested areas is to make an adoration elixir so John will experience passionate feelings for her once more.
